Moving content between platforms doesn't have to be painful. Our automated migration tools and proven methodologies ensure your content transitions smoothly while maintaining integrity and minimizing downtime.

Migration Process

1
Content Audit

Inventory and analyze content in the source system to understand scope.

2
Mapping & Design

Map source content structures to target platform models and design migration rules.

3
Migration Tools

Build automated migration scripts and tools to transform and transfer content.

4
Validation

Verify migrated content accuracy, completeness, and functionality.

Migration Scenarios

Migrating from legacy content management systems to modern platforms requires careful planning and execution. We help organizations transition from outdated systems to platforms like TeamSite, Adobe Experience Manager, or headless CMS solutions.

Common challenges we address:

  • Legacy data formats and proprietary structures
  • Incomplete or inconsistent metadata
  • Custom extensions and integrations that need reimplementation
  • Large content volumes requiring efficient batch processing

Transfer content between different CMS platforms while preserving structure, metadata, and relationships. We've successfully migrated customers between various enterprise CMS platforms, each with unique challenges and requirements.

Customer migration examples:

  • TeamSite to Drupal: Customer migrated off TeamSite to Drupal. Required recreation of all workflow functionality as Drupal's workflow capabilities are not as advanced as TeamSite's. We built custom modules to replicate critical approval processes.
  • Vignette / OpenText WEM to TeamSite: Migrated legacy Vignette (OpenText Web Experience Management) content to modern TeamSite platform. Required export of content from Vignette database, then creation of content records, components, and pages in TeamSite structure.
  • TeamSite to Hippo / Bloomreach Experience: Migration included as part of a complete redesign project. No legacy content migration needed—focused on creating new components and services aligned with the new design and platform architecture.

What we typically preserve during content migration:

  • Content hierarchy and navigation structure
  • Metadata, taxonomies, and tags
  • Internal and external links
  • Version history (when required)
  • User permissions and workflow states

Migrate digital assets between DAM platforms or from file systems to structured DAM solutions. We handle images, videos, documents, and other media files with their associated metadata.

Customer example - MediaBin to Cloudinary:

We successfully migrated a customer's extensive digital asset library from MediaBin to Cloudinary, a modern cloud-based DAM platform. This large-scale migration included:

  • Over 1 million assets exported from MediaBin using Cloudinary APIs
  • Automated batch processing to handle the massive volume efficiently
  • Recreation of all asset transformations in Cloudinary (crops, resizes, format conversions)
  • Metadata preservation including tags, descriptions, and custom fields
  • Folder structure reorganization for improved discoverability
  • Integration with customer's CMS for seamless asset management
  • Performance optimization using Cloudinary's CDN capabilities
  • Training content authors on new Cloudinary workflow

DAM migration typically includes:

  • Asset inventory and organization
  • Metadata extraction and mapping
  • Duplicate detection and consolidation
  • File format conversions when needed
  • Folder structure and taxonomy migration
  • Transformation and rendition recreation

Extract content from databases or custom applications and import into modern CMS platforms. Transform structured data into content-managed pages and components.

Customer example - Vignette / OpenText WEM to TeamSite:

While OpenText WEM (formerly Vignette) is technically a CMS, all of its content is stored in a database. This migration exemplifies the challenges of database-to-CMS migrations:

  • Direct export of content from the Vignette database tables
  • Analysis of Vignette's database schema to understand content relationships
  • Transformation of database records into TeamSite content types
  • Creation of components and pages from extracted data
  • Mapping of Vignette's content model to TeamSite's architecture
  • Preservation of content hierarchies and relationships stored in database

Database to CMS migration typically includes:

  • Database schema analysis and content extraction
  • Data transformation and normalization
  • Content type and template mapping
  • Automated content generation from data
  • Relationship and reference preservation

Consolidate multiple content repositories into a single platform. Reduce costs and complexity by bringing disparate content sources together while eliminating redundancy.

Consolidation benefits:

  • Unified content governance and workflow
  • Reduced licensing and infrastructure costs
  • Simplified training and support
  • Deduplication and content cleanup
  • Single source of truth for content

Migration Capabilities

  • Automated Tools: Custom-built scripts and utilities to automate content transfer at scale
  • Data Transformation: Convert content formats, structures, and metadata to match target platform
  • Metadata Preservation: Maintain taxonomies, tags, and classifications during migration
  • Asset Handling: Transfer images, documents, videos with proper organization and naming
  • Relationship Mapping: Preserve links, references, and content relationships
  • Version History: Migrate historical versions when required
  • User & Permissions: Transfer user accounts and access controls
  • Incremental Migration: Support phased migrations with delta updates
